The feedback that I got from the Pecha Kucha Presentation gave me ideas for how to connect the information on my map so that it generates a natural flow in which the information presented in each point informs and keeps the reader curious. This has made me think about how to be more precise in the type of media that I should be using within the map, and how to represent the information and how all those elements are going to interact with in the map.
My idea for this project is to create a sense of connections between my main two groups in my map (direct action groups and empty spaces). The connection will come from what the action groups had done in the past by reclaiming empty spaces, their experiences and processes and what member of the local communities where empty spaces exist think does empty spaces that exist right now in their communities should be.
For me it is important to create that connection instead of just mapping the location of the empty spaces, I want to show what the people on those local communities think about that space/building and also that there are people or organizations that successfully had reclaim spaces like that, and to show that is possible.
My ideas for the distribution of information in the website are as follows:
Empty spaces
The points of abandoned places are distributed in the city and each will contain specific information about that space.

I’m really glad you’re giving this careful thought, Hugo. You’re considering how to build a data model that helps you to narratively weave together your different record types. Of course you can use the “related records” feature to link your abandoned buildings and direct action groups. And if I remember correctly, you’re “pairing up” examples from these two populations to represent different strategies of reuse and activism. You could also dedicate an *argument* to each of those different strategies, and tie together the empty spaces and the action groups *via your argument*.
And what a great paper prototype!
